Dr Anvitha Rao is an experienced GP who provides care for individuals and families across Cairns and Far North Queensland. She takes a warm, practical approach and works with patients to understand their health needs, concerns and lifestyle.

Dr Rao began her medical career in India before relocating to Australia. She trained at Cairns Hospital and completed her postgraduate training through James Cook University, including her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She has worked locally since 2015 and understands the health needs of the Cairns community.

Her areas of interest include preventive health, chronic disease management, women’s health, children’s health and mental health support.

Bulk billing is available for First Nations patients and children under 16. Private fees apply to most consultations.
