Dr Anvitha Rao is a caring and experienced GP who is passionate about supporting the health and wellbeing of individuals and families across Cairns and Far North Queensland. With over a decade of experience in general practice, she takes a warm, holistic approach and values getting to know her patients so care can be tailored to their needs and lifestyle.

Dr Rao began her medical career in India before relocating to Australia. She trained at Cairns Hospital and completed her postgraduate training, including Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), through James Cook University. Having worked locally since 2015, she has developed a strong understanding of the unique health needs of our community.

Her areas of interest include preventive health, chronic disease management, women’s and children’s health, and supporting patients with mental health concerns. Dr Rao enjoys working alongside patients to help them feel informed, supported, and confident in their healthcare decisions.

Bulk billing is available for First Nation patients, children under 16.
